Here are the four major areas of study for this course:
|
Missed Tests
-You will receive a “0” unless a written note is received from your parent explaining your absence -You must write the test on your first day back (unless other arrangements are made ahead of time) -You may write the test at lunch or after school
|
Student term grade will be determined by:
|
I am available for students everyday at lunch if arrangements
|
Participation/Attitude/Behaviour:
Come to class with a friendly, relaxed and mature manner, but be prepared to work hard. Take an active role in class discussions and activities. There is nothing sadder than a student who refuses to do work in class and would rather sit and do nothing. It makes for a long and boring class. Believe it or not, time flies faster when you’re busy. “I’ll do the assignment for homework” is not a valid excuse for wasting yours and your teachers time during class. |
Class Expectations
Come to class on time (you need a late slip if you arrive to class after the 2nd bell)
Bring the required materials to class everyday: textbook, binder, paper, pen, pencil, eraser, and calculator*
Respect is mutual: You respect me and your classmates, and I respect you – AT ALL TIMES
Raise your hand when you have a question
No eating in class. This is a science room.
Keep the classroom clean: garbage goes in the garbage can!
Ask to go to the washroom. If going to the washroom becomes a daily habit, the privilege will be revoked
No Cell phones. I will take them.
Portable music players (IPODs, mp3s, etc.) are not aloud. Work hard. This includes: no chatting during lectures, completing work during allotted times, and taking neat and usable notes.
